A monthly calendar and newsletter keeps parents informed of our special parties, fieldtrips (on and off premise), class photos, snack schedules, and Kindergarten testing. Students graduate in an evening stage program wearing white caps and gowns with a celebration that follows. To complete the year, a family class picnic is planned.

Our facility includes a variety of aesthetically appealing and homespun rooms filled with wonderful educational materials and age appropriate learning toys. Mother Goose greets children as they enter through our main entrance. A small fountain (our tear well) bubbles away for children to throw away any fears or tears they may have before entering The Geneva House. Upon entrance, parents and children find a seasonally decorated bulletin board to greet them. This board often consists of our student’s smiling faces cleverly displayed. A mailbox and cubby is provided for each child as well as a message board for parent reminders. |

Alphabet, numbers, colors, and shapes serve as decoratives and learning devices, a key for academic excellence. The “Thinking Chair” provides an area for the child who would prefer a good book to playtime. Two large bulletin boards display children’s most recent artwork. Parents always are encouraged to browse artwork and share comments with their children concerning their masterpieces. Different art techniques, providing a variety of art mediums and supplies, are utilized in the creative process of each special project. The children are very proud of their work and accomplishments when their art is complete and prominently displayed. A kitchen area, decorated with gingham and apples—a motif that certainly pleases the eye, is used by our classes for snack storage, baking, cooking green eggs and ham, and for painting at easels. Our outdoor area includes a fenced play area with a huge covered sandbox and playground equipment, enhancing a child’s large motor skills and providing an opportunity for occasional water-play and parachute exercise. ![]() We, at the Geneva House, understand that our students need to be introduced to computers and we do this with four centers located throughout our school. They include an assortment of educational and entertaining CD’s that help to develop these necessary skills. |

![]() Last, but not least, a favorite at Geneva House—our Jungle Room. A friendly hand-made lion greets everyone before entrance to the “jungle”. Once inside, the children delight in this special space. Walls are adorned with animals, plants, insects, and flowers found in remote jungles and rainforests. Jungle sounds and bird calls fill the auditory senses as do the gentle bubbling filters that supply our much loved pet and fish tanks with needed oxygen. Our “little monkeys” are able to jump on a small trampoline and swing and crawl in our jungle gym. Our jungle room provides many imaginary make-believe play possibilities. |
